Warhammer 40,000 Players, Brace Yourselves

Amidst all the hand-wringing and groaning over the price hikes and switch to resin rather than metal for a lot of Games Workshop miniatures, I was sent this link and it makes me cackle with violence-loving glee.

Games Workshop's video game history was somewhat low-key until Dawn of War came out, and then things heated up in a BIG way. Dawn of War II came out a couple of years ago, and now we see that Space Marine is on it's way. Although this will be just essentially a "third person shooter", it's going to be, well, I'll let this video do the talking:

The saddest part is, my laptop is getting a little long in the tooth (over three years old) and although I bought it with a very nice graphics card at the time, those times they are a moving right along, and I may need another platform before I can run SM in all its glory.

But hey, that's what paychecks are for, right?

I can imagine with the right graphics card this would look so good.
Looking forward to the game.

THQ needs this game to go well beyond the ranks of 40K players for it to be a success. Sales of a couple of hundred thousand are not going to cut it probably.

GW also wants it to do well as this has really become part of GW's marketing efforts to expand the player base.

That looks like it could be fun!
I wonder if you can customise the Chapter armour? Ultramarines have never floated my skiff.

I'm reserving judgement on the Finecast minis till I get my mitts on one - probably next Tuesday.

Yeah, I'm not a UM fan, but apparently it's somewhat built into the plot. I imagine though that during multiplayer, you could customize the armor, just not during the missions (like in DoW).

I actually wonder why we aren't sticking with Blood Ravens? I liked their paint scheme a lot better.
